About the Avalon, NJ Boardwalk
The Avalon New Jersey Boardwalk is about a half-mile long and runs from 21st Street to 32nd Street.
The boardwalk has plenty of facilities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Access points are located at each street along the boardwalk. Handicap-accessible ramps are located at 21st, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 29th, 30th, and 32nd Streets. Visitors can reserve accessible surf chairs free of charge by contacting Beach Patrol at (609) 967-7587.
Public parking for the boardwalk in Avalon NJ is available in several borough lots located near the boardwalk. There is no charge for parking in Avalon.
Public restrooms are available at two locations: the Community Hall (30th & the beach) and on 29th Street in the Surfside Park parking lot.
Avalon also offers free sunscreen in partnership with the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation. Look for the yellow dispenser stations at various points along the beach.
Activities at the Avalon Boardwalk
The beach is just steps away from the boardwalk, inviting visitors to enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and strolls along the sand. There are also designated locations along the beach for kayaking, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, and surf fishing. However, you should note that to access the beach during the summer, a paid beach tag is required (but included with your stay at ICONA Avalon or ICONA Windrift!).
Visitors can ride bicycles on the boardwalk between 5:00 and 10:00 a.m. There is also a skate park and a playground located between E 29th & 30th Streets.
